Privacy Policy
DictaCoach is a children's education app designed for ages 7–11 with parental involvement. Protecting children's privacy is our highest priority. This Privacy Policy explains what information we handle and how.
On-Device Processing
All core app processing happens entirely on your device. We do not operate servers that receive, store, or process your child's learning data. Speech synthesis, optical character recognition (OCR), spelling practice, scoring, and progress tracking use Apple's on-device frameworks and local storage on your iPhone or iPad.
- No account creation or sign-in is required
- School word lists, practice sessions, and children's answers stay on the device
- We do not upload children's work, photos of worksheets, or audio to our servers
- If optional iCloud sync is offered in a future version, it will be opt-in and end-to-end encrypted via Apple
Information We Do Not Collect
DictaCoach does not collect, store, or transmit personal data to our servers, including:
- Names, email addresses, phone numbers, or other contact details entered for learning
- School word lists or custom vocabulary
- Children's answers, scores, streaks, or progress history
- Photos or images of worksheets processed by OCR
- Precise location data
Children's Privacy
DictaCoach is directed to children under 13 and is designed with parental supervision in mind. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because learning content and progress remain on-device and are not sent to us, we do not maintain a child profile or marketing database about your child.
- Parents and guardians should supervise app setup and use
- We do not require children to provide personal information to use the app
- We do not sell, rent, or share children's data with third parties for advertising
- We do not use children's data for behavioral advertising or profiling
COPPA Compliance
DictaCoach is designed to comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because the app's learning features run on-device and we do not collect personal information from children through those features, we do not seek verifiable parental consent for server-side collection of that data. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us through a channel outside normal app use (for example, by emailing support), contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Analytics
We may collect limited, anonymous usage analytics to understand general app performance and improve DictaCoach (for example, crash reports or aggregated feature usage). This analytics data is not used to identify your child, is not combined with school word lists or answers, and is not used for advertising. You can limit analytics sharing through your device's privacy settings where Apple provides that control.
Third-Party Services
Purchases and subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple's privacy practices apply to payment and App Store account data. DictaCoach does not receive your full payment card details.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the bottom of this page will change when we do. Continued use of the app after an update means you acknowledge the revised policy.
